How do I open a Stake account?
It only takes a few minutes to open an account on Stake. To do so, all you have to do is to go through our onboarding process, pass our identification checks and have access to your email. Once you’ve activated your new account, you can make a deposit and start investing on the U.S. market.
What are the requirements to open a Stake account?
To apply for an investing account, you’ll need to:
Be aged 18 or older
Pass our identity verification checks or verify your identity by uploading additional documentation
Be a UK resident, citizen or hold a valid visa (student visa, working visa, etc)
Have a National Insurance Number (NIN), some form of government ID or a UK bank account registered in your name
Tips for opening your account fast
Stake uses digital verification to securely streamline your application process. The information you provide is checked against various databases to automatically verify your identity. To ensure the smoothest onboarding process possible, please make sure you enter the following details accurately:
Your full name and date of birth
Your identification number (e.g. driver licence or passport number or other government-issued ID)
Your National Insurance Number
Your residential address (it should match what’s on your ID if applicable)
Your email address
Extra documentation
In cases where your information can’t be verified electronically, we may request additional documents to be uploaded for a visual check, such as:
A copy of your government-issued identification document (e.g. passport, driving licence, national identity card etc), passport etc)
A photo of you holding that ID
Proof of your residential address document (e.g. a recent bank statement or a utility bill etc)
Please note that you cannot use one form of identification (e.g. driving licence) for both name and address verification.
Once you send this through, following the prompts to ensure the legibility of all the relevant information, we should be able to verify you and get you going.
ISA & SIPP accounts
